Thor's Well

Famous Thor's Well at Cape Perpetua just south of Yachats, OR (look for the parking lot named Cooks Chasm) is a spouting horn or blowhole driven by the power of the Pacific Ocean. Best time to watch is during high tide and rough weather, but best time to photograph it is before or after high tide so you can actually approach the blowhole safely. For the best pictures check the tide tables to find a date when high tide is close to sunset! (Tide tables can be found here, sunset info here) For the second picture roll your mouse over the picture to see water action.

Japanese Garden Revisited

An overcast morning presented a good opportunity to capture the cherry blossoms at the Portland Japanese Garden, Portland, OR. Though the majority of the cherry blossoms have yet to bloom, here are some views of the beautiful Garden.
