Larch Mountain

Sherrard Point, the summit of Larch Mountain, is usually reached after a 7.5 mile hike with a 4000+ ft elevation gain from Multnomah Falls. However, during the summer and fall months (until the first snow falls), the road to the summit of Larch Mountain is open, reducing the "hike" to a mere 10 min, making it a lot less strenuous to capture amazing 360 degree panoramas even at sunset or moon rises right over Mt Hood, which will happen next at the end of this month.

For Sunset aficiondos: twice a year in late March/early April and
again early September the sun will set right over the river!
